Default Traction with 4.10s'

I have a '97 M6 and I know that 4.10 gears will be the best for it. But I know with my stock suspension and 275 tires I wont hook up. How will a strut brace, SFC & LCA help with the traction? What does anyone suggest helping me hook up with 4.10's Thanks guys!

Are you talking on the street, track, ???. On the street it won't be as bad as you think...you should be fine just don't slap 2nd while sideways too hard...

SFC's will help a lot. We made a set for my car, and they helped it quite a bit.

your best bet for traction is an adjustable torque arm......

what kind of pinion angle should someone run with an after market torque arm for traction?

I would perhaps look into a set of DOT drag radials like nitto. They really helped me alot when I got 4.10s. I also heard the BF Goodrich drag radial is also great but I haven't tried those.

the mickey thompson DR's are Badazz. Some say they hook better than a slick. I'd say they are very close.

ok,
4.10's are easier to get spinnig but easier to stop them from spinning.
3.73's are harder to get spinning but harder to stop them from spinning.
Most people who go with 3.73's kinda regret not getting 4.10's so i say go for 4.10's, might take a bit to get used to them but youll get the hang of it

4.10s have less pinion to ring surface area meshing so they will likely blow up the 12 bolt faster than lower gears.

I think 3.73s would be enough.

I may get 3.73 or 4.10 in the future, but I'm not sure. I have an auto so I don't know. I'll probably get a 3200-3500 stall too. I have Nittos, I just need to get some M/T for the track. With M/T and 4.10's I should be at about a 13.1 from a 13.4. I'll def. get a torque arm and SFC after I get 4.10's.

Which is exactly why i'm stickin' with my 3.42s until I get a beefier rear end. M6 cars cause quite a bit more driveline shock off the line than autos and have a much higher tendency to snap the gear set.

Wow, just left this morning for school, 654 i leave, snowd 3 inches. I got to the front of my neibhorhood with a little bit of spin. So im sitting at the exit waiting for a chancce to leave and i see one so i hit it. 1500k and im just spinning, i try going back and the forward still spin, i repeat till im on someguys sidewalk. Then i say **** it. Im going home. I tryd to turn around and go home but no luck just spun ans spun. So i put her up to 6200k and she caught traction and into a half cookie she went. Now i was on the opositite side of the street on the sidewalk. This is rediculous, last year with only havein a c/b and now with all my mods, i think i fuckd myself with gears and ****. Dunno, but now im sittin here wondering how im ever going to make it through winter.

of course his times were without the headers, still on stock plug wires, and plugs that were gapped to about .080, and also was a lower rpm launch, but next year his times will be much better, I would let him g tech it, but like he said it snowed, and as stated, we are in Idaho, but only at 2700 feet.
