bouncing off rev limiter

ok, lately i have been noticing that, at about 30mph when i put the pedal to the floor, it wont shift, it just climb up the rpm gauge and then just sits there and bounces against the rev limiter, and i did this a few days ago and i thought it was just a fluke and i did it again today and it did it again, but when im driving fine, it shifts good, whats wrong with it

its sounds like u have an automatic and it may be your tranny starting to slip..... just my opinion thou

mine does the same shifting out of second when i ahve the car in D i just had my tranny rebuild... i dont belive its slipping. A tune will help im sure

check your fluid level.

ditto... if your fluid is even half quart low it will bounce off the limiter before shifting

nice name

do you know what gear it's in when it hits the limiter? if not then what speed is the car at when it bounces off of it?

i know you said when u punch it around 30, but i wasn't clear on if it did it immediately or took a while. to me it seems like u were in the bottom of second and it hit the limiter before going into 3rd gear but i wasn't to be sure.
