Default Couple of Questions

I am currenty looking a camaro. I have been looking a LS1; however, they are going for more than I want to spend. So my question is, how much does it take to get an LT1 in the 11's, mid 11's. The car will be an auto, and more than likely 96 or 97. Are parts more or less expensive for a LT1 vs a LS1? Any thing else I should know before buying an LT1? Thanks in advance.

EDIT** Also what is the most restrictive part on these cars, Heads, intake manifold, ect... I know with the 96-98 mustangs, they had really restrictive heads. So inform me about some chevy's

I dont know as much about the autos since I have an M6, but to get in the mid 11's.
Headers
3:73's
CAI
Stall Converter
An LE(2 or 3) Package (check out his website eportworks.com)
Maybe some injectors and throttle body if you pick the better heads/cam

OR
Just buy some nitrous and you'll be about there.

Also, doing some suspension work will help you a LOT

Heads and Exhaust are restrictive. And like I said, a good suspension setup.

11s can be reached with

1. converter, the more stall the better
2. 3.73s
3. Longtubes
4. Cam
5. drag radials or et streets
6. springs/shocks & skinnies up front.

i cant really answer your questions about how to get these car's into 11's because there are many different routes you can take forced induction, turbo(s), nitrous, or if you want to stay N/A but either way you'll be investing in cam/head packages, high stall converter, subframe connectors, many suspension components, drag slicks etc etc you might have to wait for others to chime in that are already in the 11's

i would say the parts that hold back an lt1 the most are
1) exhaust manifolds lt headers are a must
2) heads
