MSD Opti-Spark Replacement?
MSD Opti-Spark Replacement? I've diagnosed after replacing my broken starter in my 93 Z that the opti is gone. The car ran after the starter was replaced, but has no power, sputters, spits and backfires. And then dies, now it won't start at all but the starter is fine. So it must be the opti or just needs to be timed.
We are going to take it in somewhere because I'm tired of pissing with it.
If it ends up being the opti when and where can I get this supposed MSD Opti-Replacement? I've heard it was supposed to be avaliable this month but can't seem to find it, and theres no way I'm replacing with another opti, and I would rather not do DelTaq or whatever.
Any help would be great

Damn Red Camaro. its not the complete opti that msd offers the msd is just the cap and rotor. i dont know where everyone keeps gettin the info that its a complete opti unit. there was a rumor that msd is supposed to be designing a complete unit but no word of it yet.
the opti is not that bad if treated correct. its in a bad spot yes i agree. if buy a true GM brand vented opti, just make sure the rotor screws are tight or better yet take them out and locktight them. put it back together and its good to go.

I called the guys at MSD earlier this week and they told me it's still a few months away from the market. How true this is I don't know but for now, I'm installing a new stock vented unit with the available MSD cap & rotor.

Yeah, we're taking it into a professional because I don't have the tools to go any further. We're hoping for just a timing issue rather than ignition, but it went from bad to worse quickly which is why we thought opti. If it does end up being the optispark I might just go deltaq.
