Default Should I be Worried?

Hi, I just have a quick question about my car... ive owned it for about a week or so and purchased it (94 Z28) from a lot. It run's great but is my first v8 car and i was wondering if an idle of 950 rpm's is far to high for these cars? The car runs perfectly but im not used to having an engine wind that high at idle... my Sonoma idle'd at aroudn 550 rpm. Well i was just wondering... thx for any feedback!

Your fine, don't worry. I have a 1997 Z28 M6 and the stock idle is 1100 RPM's.

Stock idle for a 6 speed car is 850rpms, but it may appear higher because the tachs are usually off.

yep thats what the computer is set to stock on a 6 speed.
autos are around 650 i think

500-600 on a 6 speed car is hardly running...
does it sound like its struggling for an idle?

Not to hijack, but why does my car idle at 1100? The tach can't be that far off at IDLE. Its right on when it hits the rev limiter.....its a 1997 M6, by the way.

not at all,
when its cold its about 1000-1100
but after it heats up it lowers to 500-600 mostly 600

when i step on the gas it doesnt hesitate at all, doesnt feel like is about to die or anything.

i would look for a vacume leak, i see you have a cold air intake, might want to make sure the elbow is all the way on the throttle body. some times that can be a real pain to put back on. it likes to tuck up into it.
