You'll have a wheel sensor each on the front wheels, one on top of the rear end housing. Your brakes will work without ABS and you'll never know it doesn't work unless your romp on your brakes hard. If you've ever braked hard and never felt the uncontrollable pumping of the brake pedal then ABS has never been on.

My ABS INOP light is always on and yet my ABS works just fine. Tested it just the other day on an icy parking lot.

Clean the wheel sensors and ABS relays with some electrical contact cleaner.

There's nothing wrong with your ABS sensors, I had same problem in my '94 T/A, I replaced sensors and light kept coming back on and off. One day, the secondary radiator fan stopped working, so I switched relays.... gues what.... relay for the fan was good but I had a bad fan motor, as for the "ABS Inop" light.... good relay from burnt fan motor cleared it out and it has been working well since then. Bought a relay under $10.00 and fixed it.

No that wouldn't do it but your 3rd brake light out would cause your inop light to be on.

I've got the same problem with my 93 Z. I've had my car hooked up to my friends Tech 2 and the problem is deep in the ABS module. So I would recomend having your car hooked up to a computer to see what codes it would throw. Could be something easy as sensor, could result in changing ABS unit.

Brake codes won't show up on the regular PCM scans will they? I think there's a billion things that will throw an ABS light. I believe I remember seeing a big bunch of stuff in my Chilton manual.

Did you get the original light to go out? On your radio illumination, it sounds as if you have something wired together that really shouldn't be. Did you wire your lighting wires to a brake wire?

well.......it seems that the pre owner cutted off all the wires and wired them to a new plug.....but in that zone I do not think there are any brake wires!!!
and this light did not turn off before.....could it be a bad battery aswell?
thx for answering

If your battery was bad you wouldn't be out driving around. Sounds as if you have a bad ground or a faulty connection on your hot wire(s). Did the ABS light ever go off?

I already told you the answer..... mine used to do same thing, it resulted in a faulty ABS relay......

Check THe ground wire on the passenger side of the engine bay... if it is loose it will come on... I had the same problem.

If the throttle position sensor is bad it will also do it. The snesors are all tied into together. Disconnect battery, wait a couple minutes then reconnect. If it goes out great, if not, scan it and see. There is a way to scan abs.
