Default does a 95 camaro z28 have 1 cat or 2

i just did seafoam thing on my car my car exhaust feels really restrictive after i drove my car around the block the cat got so hot that it singed my fingers i barley touched it should i take off the cat and replace it with a straight pipe also my car has shorties so i still have the stock y pipe heres my question does my car have 2 cats or one beacuase there is a canister on the left side is this a cat and if it is can i gut it my car is a 95 camaro z28 thanks

Ok, CAT's get really hot anyways, like really, really hot, i want to say close to 1,000 degrees but that may be high but i know its hot. Also your's is a 95 so it is OBD I so it does have 2 cats.

It depends on what month the car was made. single converters were used on 95's till about a little after mid year i believe , then they went to two cats.

my car is a 383 and im still running the stock exhaust with a spintech muffler but it still feels restrictive would removing the cats and installing straight pipes help

my car has a canister on the left side of the motor is this a cat and can it be gutted if it is

You should be able to, if you remove the y-pipe of course and punch the catalist out. Im not sure how long it would take to nock it out. I have a 95' TA with a single cat and am planning on gutting mine too. Also I woud only do it if the o2 sensor is before the converter ,which it should be.

i have one cat under drivers door my question is if the canister atached to the header a cat and if it is can it be guttined or removed for a straight pipe or is there a aftermarket pipe for shortie headers thanks

You'll fail inspection in CA if you remove the cat. If you gut the cat you might be ok and still pass emissions. But you're not going to pick up any real power from removing or gutting it. If it's clogged then you should replace it. What makes you think your exhaust is really restrictive?

the car doesnt feel responsive it did before i put the seafoam in it my mech told me the carbon deposit's the seafoam cleaned out might of clogged the cat and it just doesnt feel as fast ad it use to be is there an after market pipe i can buy for the lt1 shorties all the y pipe's ive found are for lt's or is it possible to modify my y pipe

Punch e'm and put o2 sims on it. If it is a dual cat you will have to cut the pipe behind the passenger side cat to get into to punch it. You can do the driver side through the top. You have to take off the y-pipe though but I am sure that was already a given it makes it much easier. emissions is for Hondas
