buildign up from a bare block.

ok guys im soon going to be buyin a block boring it to fit the 383.... besides pistons cranks rods.... valvtrain , heads cam and headers..... what else am i missing i know theres more.... i think ill be using the stcok radiator... buying an electric water pump... what else is there?

opti spark, timing chain and gears, oil pan, oil pump, oil pick up, exhaust (headers), intake manifold, and i think thats about it

opti seems to be a weak point in LT1s... is there an alternative?

Accurate machine work is very important to a high performance buildup, using honing plate, align hone, block decking....
It's possible to eliminate the high voltge end of the opti and use multi coils.
Better fueling is needed consisting of bigger and better fuel pump and injectors.

where should i go to get the block bored? and is it very expensive?

Where are you located? And yes. Done correctly, it can get expensive. If you are new to this, you might save money long term buying an engine already built by a pro. Al least, maybe a short block. Knowing where you are located, someone here may know of a good shop in your area.
