Waterpump
Waterpump What is it that usually leaks on these waterpumps?? My car has about 57,000 miles and the waterpump is leaking, but I can't really tell where it is coming from. Is there any chance that if I buy an electric water pump that it could still leak? Thanks guys.

As stated, the factory mechanical pumps typically leak when the internal seals fail. When this happens, the bearings are contaminated with coolant, and you'll have coolant leaking from the 'weep hole' on the bottom of the pump -- which drips onto the optispark. The pump needs to be replaced at this point.
To run an electric waterpump, a freeze plug is installed into the factory waterpump housing, which should prevent any leaks from the factory waterpump housing itself. However, my Meziere electric waterpump has a second weep hole on its housing, which can fail in the same manner as the factory pump. This usually happens when you let the pump sit for any long periods of time. The good news is that Meziere will replace the electric pump's seals for free under warranty, for up to 2 years. (IIRC)
