Cutout question
I got a cut out on my car and my dad has hated it sense day one. he keeps telling me that it will crack my head b/c cold air will go up in there after i cut it off. I tell him he is full of it. b/c I have never heard anytihng like that. well I go and start my car this morning and all i hear is TICK TICK TICK TICK... call my dad and he tells me that the cut out must have cracked my head yadda yadda...
but I have not open the cut out in months. I just dont belive the ticking has anything to do with my cut out. What do you guys think?

Tell your dad he is an idiot.
Wait, well, ok maybe that's not a good idea, but something to that effect.
First of all, a cutout goes onto the exhaust pipe, not the intake, so no air is going to be going into the engine from it.
Secondly, cold air does not "crack the head" lol, cold air makes more power than warm air (compresses more).

Agreed, it's likely an exhaust leak due to colder winter months now.
Ask him why dragsters run open pipes. They won't crack their heads. At least not because of that
Give your dad a boot to the head.

Well it's probably louder than you think... I drove around with an open cutout for about 3 months. Well long story short I got a racing ticket so I haven't been driving(and won't until February) but let my dad drive me to church every week in my Camaro. Well when it started up it actually scared me because I'm not used to it anymore
