Default Problems installing 58mm tb on 95 vette

Can anyone tell me what I should do about a problem I am having. I have installed a Edelbrock 58 mm throttle body on a 1995 lt1 corvette. I received a Dynathrust spacer with it and it seems to keep the throttle body open approx. .25 of an inch even when the car is off. Is there any thing I can do to extend the throttle cable?

Why are you running a spacer?
I tried to find a site for that space and found nothing.
Can I guess that it is tapered to allow you to use a 58mm TB without grinding on the intake?
In which case the resolution is simple put the stock TB back on, it is not a restriction on a stockish motor.
I put a 58mm I got cheap on my cammed motor with higher flowing heads than yours the stock iron ones(yes that is correct) and I noticed no SOTP power gain or anything in datalogs that shows more air movement. IMO those who claim to see big power gains from TB swaps on stockish cars can not tell the difference between throttle response and power. They do change throttle response.
If you have an automatic car a larger TB can spell death to the tranny unless you reprogram for it or modify the tranny.

So it would be ok to put the 58 mm on without the adapter plate?

A 58 mm TB won't work with a stock intake without having it ported. The ports on the stock intake won't support anything bigger than 54 mm. And like 96capricemgr said, 58 mm is overkill unless you have a pretty heavily modded engine.

Putting a spacer on for a 58mm is self defeating because in the end you still just have a 52mm hole that the air is passing through.

Well I put it on without the adapter plate and it seemed to liven the car up a lot. It has a lot better throttle response. As far as more horsepower I dont think it was much if any at all. But it looks great compared to the stock throttle body.
