The 847 works great with the stock heads, sounds bad *** IMO. As soon as I get home I am going 2 stages progressive 1st stage dry, second wet, still on the stock bottom end. The ebay converter has worked great for me so far, I probably have over a 100 passes on it and no problems at all. Its just a restalled stocker but really improved the overall car, knocked .2 off the 60' as well.

I helped a friend go 12.98/105 (in 96 degree heat, mind you) a couple years ago, and all he had done was:

SLP cold air
BBK shorties/custom exhaust
Some sort of mail order tune
Sticky tires.

We put a gear in the car a few weeks later and ran it at our local 1/8th mile track, and it picked up .25 over 1/8th mile pass on the 12.98 run. Its relatively easy to run 12's, you dont need to jump straight to changing cam's and what not.

Tom, is that your Cuda? Holy Crap that is one mean ****!

One of the best mods you can doto your car is a 2800-3000 stall and some sticky tires. That and the misc bolt-ons will net your some great 60ft times and some nice 12 second slips.

Took everything at my CarDomain site minus the blower. There are some really fast bolt on cars - I couldn't get my bolt on convertered car to do squat - like 13.40's - then a small cam and in the 12's.

Blower - 11's

Suspension/12bolt - ? this Winter's plans

Yup, thats me and my dads cars. He drives the 64 Belvedere and I drive the 69 Cuda! I wish my TA could 60ft 1.30's lol. Id love to put a fogger kit on it and run high 8's but our other project is taking up all our money and time. Thats why im trying to make my TA a fun and quick street car for as cheap as possible. Id like to get a 3000 stall and continue my bolt-ons and if that doesnt get me there then im sprayin away till i get there lol!!

Removing cats will probably help more than the LTs.
The shorty design seems to work very well in the LT1s.

Really? What was his 1/8 mile time? I want to run a high 12, but I don't think it's going to happen. I have the same mods as your friend and dynoed 284Rwhp. Except, I have LT headers and an LT4 KM.

To the original poster. It seems like you think it will be really hard to hit 12's and you will need nitrous. With LT headers, matching Y-pipe or some other catback, a CAI, a tune and a stall converter, you will be in the twelves. I would guess a 12.8-12.7 with a good 60' and if you have a healthy motor.

Thanks Camaro Owner, I plan on doing exactly that and see where that gets me.

All bolt ons and some drivng OR drag radials. Get some drag radials and it will feel like a new car. I gained .5. Its nice to hit 2 gear and feel the car "hit" instead of slip.

I got 342 RWHP around 360 torque on a dyno with the LT4 hot cam. Ran 12's. stock ignition is good enough till you charge it, or up compression somewhat.

The 847 knocked off .2 on your 60 ft alone? How much in the 1/4?

Exactly, there is no reason at all in an auto LT1 you have to touch the motor to get 12s. A full bbolt on LT1 on drag radials should be in the mid high 12s.

Slicks, 4.10's, 150 dry shot, with some tr-6's ngks,
Cat-back

it worked for me
12.66666666666 at 105.mph with a 1.760ft at 4000ft
