Lt4 dyno #'s
Does anyone have a Lt4 head and cam car? I was told my car is a LT4 but red paint was sandblasted off to get by dealership to keep it under warranty. but, when I had it dyno'd the guy said it was a LT1 because he said it was LT1 injectors. I have receipts for a head, a cam, 52mm Tb, jet hot headers, i think an "underdrive" pulley?, 3.73 gears, cat back,SLP CAI, cross drilled / slotted brakes, and the boyd Coddingtons. I know the headers are gone, because it has stock manifolds on it. I dyno'd the night I got the car. It ran 296.7rwhp and 306.7 ft/lbs tq and it was real lean. The computer aborted it every single time just as soon as he got on it because it was leaning out. he said the car pulled hard, but whatever, he was getting paid, so I dont know.
But back to the point, I'd like to see what other Lt4 cars are putting down. I have no intention of running NOS, so headers and a TC are about it for now.
Thanks guys!

doesnt the lt4 intake not have an egr port on the back? or at least isnt it blocked off
i know that can be changed but take a look
really i dont think your going to seem too much of a change from stock lt1 heads and cam to lt4 head and an lt4 cam(not the hot cam)
those numbers dont seem bad at all for an auto with stock manafolds

Well a LT4 motor offered in the Grand Sport vettes had a smaller cam than a LT4 head HOTCAM combo. As far as EGR, i am 99% sure LT4's also included that. As for identifiying a LT4 intake and heads, you'd need to get the casting numbers off of the head.
Otherwise at worst someone took the intake and just had it powder coated red. If its running lean, get a tune

That's about what a stock LT4 SS, Firehawk, Grandsport would put down through an M6. With stock manifolds, the LT4 cam (not hot cam) and the bolt ons you have described it is very plausible. However, I have never heard of anyone sandblasting their LT4 intake to mak it look like an LT1 intake

i guess if you really want to know look around for a casting number.

The thing is, he doesn't have headers. Personally that's what I'd expect a car with just the LT4 heads/cam and stock exhaust manifolds to put down.

I would pull a valvecover and look at the head casting number.
From what you are describing of power through manifolds and being exessively lean I agree with those here who think it might actually be LT4 parts.
I also think you need to make sure it is programmed for such after you verify the head castings, that might be all it takes to correct the lean condition..

Tell me where to look for certain things and I'll do it! Please try to be specific, i havent driven a piston car in a while (13 rx7's)

I understand that. It just sounds a bit fishy. There are some shady characters out there. But like I and others have said, the numbers do make it plausible. Check the heads and let us know
