Alright my LT1 currently has a CC503 cam in it.

First off how good of a cam is it?
Is it worth switching to a GM847 or a Joe O custom cam?

I'm trying to get the best power out of my car and basically could care less about emissions (my car doesn't have to do them!). But if there isn't a big difference between the cams, I'd rather spend the money in another area.

I AM however looking at upgrading the heads and boring the engine, so the cam won't be with an exactly stock setup.

Any advice/tips/comments would help. Thanks

 

I would look into loyd elliott, i have just my custom cam from him for my 396 build. He knows alot about setups. I would give him a call, tell him what your wanting to do. Thats just an suggestion.

 

Bret does the cam's for almost all of Lloyd's set up, he knows his ****. Talk to him about your setup. This is a great link to understand a little bit more about cams.

Personally I love the 503 and that's what I'm running now, but I agree talk to Lloyd about it. You can certainly go a bit bigger w/o any issues.
