Ok.. nitrous.. or turbo.

It will take me 400 hours of work time to get everything to get the turbo setup i want. PTK parts. Small t61 for a lil boost. Intercooler. EVERYTHING.

Or I could go with nitrous RIGHT NOW. Here is what i could order. (going 100 shot... my motor only has 1500 miles on it)

http://www.harrisspeedworks.com/shop...cat=338&page=1

http://www.harrisspeedworks.com/shop/home.php?cat=313

What would you guys say? Cowboy up a and save for the F/I or spray the **** out of it? Im 18 and graduating this month... thank god. The car was my graduation present and i have the need for speed.

The car is a 1996 Trans Am with 83000 miles. The motor has only 1500 miles on it. So anyone have their pick?

If you plan on going to college then I say neither. Especially if you don't have the other bolt-ons done yet.

f/i is only for a car that is already maxed out n/a. Doing a turbo right now is just plain stupid IMO. do a head and cam and exhaust and all that other good stuff and you'll be seeing better gains and all around performance thatn just going straigh turbo. Also IMO i think f/i and gas are both kind of "cheating", any car benefits from gas and can beat a car with a much better engine with 100 more horses with just gas and thats only temporary. Also f/i though not easy is just kinda of too simple of a choice until the engine is maxed out n/a, its a waste of potential imo, both respectful but i think a car that runs 10's all motor is better than a car that runs 10's with 150 shot or 10psi. just my 2 cents

I dont care what someone respects. Ya race what ya brung and that is what it comes down to. And i want to do a full forged bottom end and LE AFR's and blah blah. Im doing that at the end of the year.... so im doing something now to make me have a lil fun this summer. Either way i probly wont even get the car to dip into the 12's. My altitude is a mile high.

i say 100 shot if your gonna build it up later on.. turbo setups are more "permanent" than nitrous.. but id at least get some LTs and a cai to let it breath a little.. my .02

well all these votes and no explinatons.. someone what to say why they all choose nitrous over turbo...

Or i could jsut do LE3 kids. It really make 400 RWHP? That is more than the turbo at half the cost

if the motor can handle it....turbo it. if you don't have the proper **** for forced induction, then spray it

I went turbo with mine because it is always available. At moderate boost levels it is safe on a stock motor. When you beef up the motor, you can up the boost.
Nitrous, however, is much cheaper and simpler to install.
If you plan on building the motor soon, I would suggest nitrous as a temporary solution. If you decide to go FI after the engine build, you can always sell the nitrous and recoup some of your cost.

WEll what nitrous then? Im talking limited budget...

Is the Cold Fusion a good kit? Would you spend the extra cash to run the similar NX kit? If so what are your reasons?

as for controllers...

this (FJO controller.. $206 or w/e)
