only 125 for me, I was on bald tires and a worn out suspension that had 80K miles on it. Any faster than about 120 is just pushing it way to far on a public road.

145 for me as well. My **** 2.73 gears didn't pull at all after that. It was like 1 mph every 5 seconds.

152 was my tops in my formula. My drive shaft needed to be replaced after that cause I had some serious vibrations.

damn, some of you ppl are crazy talking about running out of room. if you're gonna take it up that fast u should have a place mapped out.

i had a perfect place back when i was at college. before it was repaved recently (for what reason i don't know) it was smooth as glass and went dead straight for quite a few miles. i had the speedo up to 145 there and let out because the wind ripping into the windows was not cool and i didn't wanna run out of room because it took so long trying to video it that we went a good ways down the road. if i wasn't afraid of blowing out the windows i'd gps it, especially now with more mods and 6 speed.

here's the vid. back then it was just simple bolt ons and nitrous which i wasn't using.

Yeah I agree.

I did it at 3:45 am and didn't see another car for the entire stretch of road.

Doing that in any situation where you are going to run out of room or come up on traffic is just dumb IMO.

I only like opening it up when I'm out in the boonies where there are fewer people, fewer cops, and straighter roads. The fastest I've done is 145 in a 1990 Corvette. My buddy let me borrow it for the weekend because he needed my truck, but he still doesn't know that I did that! Hee, hee... If the car would've been mine, I would've probably gone faster.

10.47 @ 133 in the quarter and 170mph on a closed course with the old setup.

9.0x @ 150 at the strip and possibly 200 top speed for the new setup with a gear change.

I'm hoping for a Standing start mile record run with it this year if I can find the right class.

Tony Shepherd (fast 93 z) and I sprayed a 150 shot in his car when he had the 383 from 2nd gear all the way through 6th. The needle was pegged for a WHIIIIILE . I'm guessing we had to be going over 200mph. Dont know the exact speed though.

I did 172mph (according to datamaster) in my car with the old motor before I sold it. About 150mph the windows started to fold out. By the time we hit 170mph you could stick your arm out of the window
