Default Gas Mileage improvement?

What is there that could or should be done to improve the gas mileage on a car with 90,000 miles?

Rule of thumb, Oxygen sensors when they get old will hurt gas milage, so change those if they havent bee, fuel filter, fresh spark plugs and new wires. Also driving it nice also helps, prolly the hardest thing to do though

Try a quart or so of acetone, xylene, or toluene. I read somewhere toluene 114 octane. I've never tried it but I've been aiming to in my pickup. (I drive my Jetta most of the time, which is diesel, so I never think of it.)

I would stay away from any of those phony gas saver things like the "tornado". Tests proved that the thing as well as other devices actually hurt horsepower and gas mileage, go figure. A nice tuneup probaly wouldn't hurt.

I've used that seafoam stuff in my daily driver, a 94 4.6 t-bird, and have had good results from it. I felt my car smooth out and it got better milage as well. Not that expensive to try, ~5 bucks a can.

Def at that mileage spark plugs and wires if you haven't changed them yet.

Yeah, seafoam can be poured into the gas tank, or into the oil fill. Pretty good stuff, I always use it on vehicles that have been sitting for ahwhile.
