gears
help me pick the right gears for the spray i am about to get my car finished to the point that i can spray again and i am now running 4.11 with the 93 6 speed trans what gear would you suggest

Have to remember that the 93 trannys ahve diffrent gear ratios for the first couple of gears. and hes spraying so the has to have the little cushion for a gear. Another thing you should take into account is the overall tire height. Their are gear calculators that will tell you what final drive ratios are needed for the 1/4 based on wheel size and so on. Just some things i thought you should know.
yeah i am shifting real quick now i am turning 4th gear in the 1/8 spray is realy going to be pushing me i think i am running 26.10.5.15 so any body wanna throw some sugestions at me i will be gratefull thanks brad

I have a 93 with the m29 t56 and I have 3.73's. It's about the same as the
94- present t56 running 4.10's 1st-3rd, and 5th and 6th are deeper in the m29 as well. Running a 4.10 in the m29 is like 4.56 in 94-up. I used to run 3.42's, but wanted a little more gear so moved it up a bit. Even with 3.73's with m29 you might still have to shift to fourth for the 1/8 mile. I like my 3.73's though.

thanks i have a narowed ford 9 inch and i m kinda debating on either the 3.70 or the 3.90 before i put the rear in i had 3.73 and loved it but know with the 4.10 i have got a bad traction problem and i am looking at nothing but shift light i kinda belive if i raise the gear i will be a litle quickeer
