I bought some used O2 sensors with the box style connectors so I planned on cutting and soldering my flat connectors in. Only problem is I noticed the two brown wires are nearly identical in color. This is the same coincidence on both sets. What is the distinguishing feature so I know which to wire together? The tan and purple wires are no prob. Thanks.

Did you ever figure out if it mattered? I am shortening up some wires and cut them already. I did not think it would matter because they go in a certain order like brown, tan, brown, purple on one harness but then on the other it is like brown, brown, tan, purpl. If the brown wires weren't side by side on that one side I would be okay. GM sucks.

Well, I took the other one apart so if anyone else gets some use out of this thread some time in the future let me know I'm not wasting my time.
-The right brown wire on the harness goes to the brown wire that would have the purple wire on the right at the O2 sensor.
It probably doesn't even matter. It might just loop in and out.
