Default CC305 or CC503

Ok guys ive come down to 2 cams for my setup in march. Im looking for great STRIP and decent STREET. I dont want to go any bigger or any smaller. Out of these 2 cams ive heard good and bad stuff, now im asking for some more opinions.

CC305-.220/.230 @ .510/.510 112 LSA from Thunder. Ive looked around and couldnt come up with lift nubmers for 1.6RRs on this cam. As it goes people say its a great cam to run STREET/STRIP. Ive seen some pretty impressive track times with this one too, on stock internals.

CC503-.224/.230 @ .503/.510 114 LSA from summit. Some guy said lift was about .533/.541 with 1.6RRs, seems like alot for 1.6s. I have also heard and seem some nice e/ts and dynos with this baby.

I guess what im asking guys is for a final opinion on cams, it been abot 2 months of lookin for a cam for my upcoming setup, so i narrowed it down to 2 of em.

Opinions, E/ts, dynos and other tasty info is welcome. Thanks guys.

Comp rates that CC305 on a 1.5 rocker, so on a 1.6 I belive you divide the lift by 1.5 then multiply by 1.6.

comp rates both of them with the 1.5 but your method of finding lift for the 1.6 rockers is correct.

Yea, cam companies rate lift at the valve. Since 1.5 rockers multiply the lift of the actual cam by 1.5, just divide the rated lift by that number (1.5). Once you do this you have the actual lift of the cam. If you are planning on putting 1.6 rockers on then multiply the cam lift by 1.6. For example the cc305 has an advertised lift of .510 of an inch, this is the lift of the valve with 1.5 rockers so take .510 and divide it by 1.5. This gives you 0.34 of an inch of lift given by the actual cam, which means the peak of the lobe on the physical cam shaft itself is .34 of an inch higher then the cams base circle. Multiply that 0.34 x 1.6=0.544 inch lift. So, the cc305 will give you .544 inch lift on both the intake and exhaust, assuming the numbers in your post are correct. As for the cc503 the intake lift with 1.6 rockers would be .536 and the exhaust lift would be .544 with 1.6 rockers. 1.6 only refers to a ratio, it multiplies the lift of the actual cam by 1.6. Hope this helps in your future cam search and understanding. Math does come in handy occasionally i guess. I do not have a cam, yet, but everything i have read about the 503 is great and if anything is geared more towards streetability then track worthiness. I think its pretty much a given that the 503 will net you lower ETs then the 305 also.
