I wasn't sure Pacestter made mid-lengths, I thought they only made LT's...You won't be able to use the stock y-pipe obviously....Which means you'll probably have to get a new y-pipe w/ cats...But you don't have to run cats you know. Just get the old y-pipe and manifolds out and everything bolts up.

the PaceSetter Mid-Lengths bolt directly to factory y-pipe.

Well since you have a y pipe, you don't need to worry. What year did you get these Pacesetters for? If you have a catback made for a 96-97, and headers with matching y-pipe for a 93-95 single cat, I'm not positive if it will line up correctly.

I know a guy that had headers and a y pipe for a 95 and had a 96-97 Borla catback system that didn't line up correctly.

it's actually my g/f's car she has a 95 z. mine's a 96 and didn't come with a y pipe so i just had one made. her 95 setup came with the y pipe but with no cat on it. the cat is part of her stock y pipe. the y pipe that came with the headers doesn't bolt up to the catback because you either need to get a new cat and weld it to the y pipe or cut the stock one off and weld it to the new one.i think so ne ways. i just wondering if anyone has done this before because i never did. i always put the headers on and had the rest of the exhaust made. i would like to reuse the stock cat instead of blowing money aftermarket one because i would hack it out ne way so why waste the money on a new one.

leave the cat off or switch to high flow. best sound if you have cat back or straight pipes. mid tubes are a nice compromise from shorties or lts. but you wont need anything special to put them on.

Wait, I'm confused...

You have a 96..k? She has a 95 which had these headers.

You made your own y-pipe, then took her headers? It all depends on what year the cat back system is for...If it's made for a 96-97, it won't fit, but if it's for a 93-95, it will.

What I mean is if you have headers for a 95, and you have the matching y-pipe, and then you have a catback system for a 96-97, it will not bolt up.

she has a borla catback now with a gutted cat. i would just get a pipe made and eliminate the cat but it won't pass the visual inspection for emissions. on my car i just gutted the original cats and had a new y pipe made and welded a pipe through the cats to the exhaust so it doen't bounce around in the cat's shell.

You could always find a place to pass you for visual inspection like I do.

94-95 PaceSetter Midlengths also fit directly to the factory Y-Pipe. Then, buy a high-flow catted y-pipe that directly bolts into place. Then, no custom work will be needed.

Default pace setters

how much RWHP you think you have and do you think by going maybe w/mac or az&s headers you would have gotten more power?

thanks

My son and I installed Pacesetter Mids On his 94 Z - Make sure you ding the primary pipes to clear the steering shaft or you,ll have to do it later. Use the best gaskets and header bolts as we've already has to retighten 3 times already. Our's came with the y-pipe. We kept all the emmission piping.Hardest part of the install was trying to line up the EGR connection. Didn't quite line up. I would just have a muffler shop weld the y-pipe to the cat.Have fun, your knuckles will never be the same! Good thing is it's still legal as far as the state emmisions
