CC306 stock converter A4?
They have a 236/242 .556/.576 cam that is very similar to the CC306's specs... From what i remember the cc306 is 230/244 and .544/.576 with 1.6 rockers..... these cams are very similar...... but the xtreme is much newer technology.
But to answer your original question yes you can run that type of cam with a stock converter but it ain't gonna be as fast as if it was outfitted with a good converter.... you're gonna want RPM with either of those cams and a stock converter is going to bog you down initially.... Instead of flashing into the powerband for that cam...
Don't do it without a stall and 3.73+ gears.

Secondly my OLD motor was a 355 with the 236/242 xtreme energy ran 10.40@131 on a 150 shot...... My new 383 that will be done in two weeks is setup to run 8's on 2 stages.. With AFR 227's, a single plane manifold, solid roller with over .700 lift, shaft rockers, etc. I personally guarantee it is way more than your streetcar will be able to handle.
So for you to say you can run ALL OVER my 383 is a bunch of BS. Bring your streetcar up to california once my car is finished.... Cause I've got a grand that says you can't drive around my 383. At least not running 9.83's it won't..... You DON'T KNOW ME for one, so next time you feel like flaming someone make sure you have your facts straight. You car runs hard with a CC306. Please show me where I said it wasn't a good cam cause I'm still looking.... I said I wouldn't run one now with the other viable options on the market right now and that's my business and perogative.... if the 306 is working for you good for you....

But it was enough to run 11.60@119 on the motor and dynoed 422RWHP with a 355 ci LT1, stage ii heads, ported manifold, srp pistons, eagle rods, 58mm throttle body, hooker lt's and your usual assortment of bolt ons....
