Beautifull car, I wish I was in a position to buy it. Thats like the most collectable 4th gen period.
How anyone posting on this board cannot appreciate this car is beyond me.
Even a comparison to a grand prix ( sorry I meant GTO ) is crazy.
Just logged on my ebay and the thing is at like 35000 and still 5 days to go.
and thats without subsidized finance or lease rates .

See this all the time on the b-body boards every idiot and their brother bought an Impala and mothballed it to sell it a decade later for what they bought it for maybe a little more maybe less. Either way if there was a loan, insurance any fluid changes etc. involved they lost their *** on it even before accounting for inflation. 30+ years ago people bought cars that would not last 100K and drove them, cars today last a lot longer and people are expecting them to gain value, so if an when they do the market will be comparatively flooded. Barrett Jackson cars go for big money not because of what they are but because of a "mine's bigger than yours" competition speaking of wallets of course . A friend has a very nice 68 Camaro sort of a Motion clone currently a 502 in it, liked driving his wifes 95 Caprice so much he bought one for himself and is now plotting to put a semi-built LT1 in the Camaro. It is a nice car with lots of work into it but for driving pleasure almost anything from the last 2 decades puts it to shame.

This is a special car. The 90's version of a COPO. I am surprised that it went so cheap. I tried to order one new, but missed the boat. There is no way that you can compare a LT4 F-Body to any Impala SS. One is a limited production performance car the other is a mass produced Grandad car. I used to laugh at my local dealer when he tried to palm one of those RARE last year produced Impalas off on me!

I would love to have a limited edition car like that! I missed buying a LT4 SS by one day back in 1997. I called the dealership and they had sold it the day before (but still had it in the showroom)... I had already made up my mind that I was going to buy it if it was still there (win some, lose some )!

I believe about 100 or so were made. It's a collectable for sure and that would be the only reason to buy it. Otherwise the performance can be duplicated for 1/3 the price including the car you start with.
With that being said, There is a guy local to me that has 3, yes 3, 97' LT4 SS Camaros. All have less than 500 miles on them. I drove one. Cool for sure but again not my thing unless I were going to use it for an investment.
