Threads stripped on head advice please

I was changing the plugs on my LT1 96TA after 109000miles. I got all 7 done until the #2 cly plug . The plug came out alright but with a little jump as it came out. So I started to put the new one in and it would not start i tried for little over an hour with no luck. I went and bought a 14mm tap for the plug but it is to hard to get to.My question is should i pull the exhaust man or the head and intake so dont get anything in the motor???? HeLp

pull the exhaust manifold...and check it out...worth it...take mayb an extra hour

it is a PITA. do what ever it takes. Heck pull the Manifolds and put headers on

Yeah id pull the manifold atleast to make sure you get it strait put you some grease on the tap and that will collect most of the shavings from falling working it in and out and letting the shavings stick to the grease

Did you try putting a different plug in that cylinder? I've had the situation happen when I started to crossthread the plug slightly and then could never get it to go into that cylinder. So I tried another plug and got it to go right in. If the threads on that new plug are slightly messed up you don't want to force it in to that cylinder. Try another plug first. Hopefully you can get it to go in straight!

yeah tonight i am goin to pull the exhaust manifold and see if I can get to it. I bought a new plug and gaskets today. I dont think it is goin to be that hard to get off. I just want it fixed so I can drive my ride cuz NEw oil change and full tank of gas in her. DAMN IT

Just finished but need impact to get the bottom end of exhaust. 4hrs to get the bolts off and damn iam ready for a break. Anyone got any headers for sale ?????
