Default need cam install help quick!!!!!!!!!!

how do i keep the lifters from fallin down in the motor when i remove the stock cam and replace it with the new cam.

you take the lifters out first.

im not pulling the heads. im doing w/ the heads on the car

you don't need to remove the heads to pull the lifters. once the intake is off you just pull the lifters out.

edit- if you don't want to pull the intake (it's very easy) then you could try 16 magnets. you'd need one for each lifter and probably a prayer too. just pull the intake and remove the lifters.

thanks... pretty sure i will pull the intake... but i did think about the magnets already lol.

not sure what cam your going with but a set of valve springs is a good idea.

If I read it right, you are going to have to pull your valve covers, loosen rockers, pull out pushrods, then pull out the lifters. You cant get the lifters out with pushrod pressure on them. And of course the intake has to come off, but heads can stay on. Hope that answers your question.

you would also have to remove the oil pump drive at the back of the lifter valley.
