dont hold your breath for a BBK intake. theres MUCH more demand for an L98 replacement intake than an lt1 intake and its been two years since they said "itll be a couple months away". at that time they told customers calling in that it was done and final testing was being done. come sema that year suddenly no one knew anything about it.

so in short i believe the edelbrock one is coming out but i seriously doubt a BBK intake will come out anytime soon.

Don't get your hopes too high remeber they had it in Summit for sale a decade ago and the Accel and MSD optis are currently offered in Summit as well, the accel with no ship date ,the MSD with a constantly being pushed out ship date currently in May. So having something in a catalog means little.

There was a GUY who made his INTAKE just like edlebroks before EB even made theirs to public.

It was posted on camaroz28.com and im trying to find it now, but the guy made a tunnel intake just like than and actually picked up like .2-.3 in the qrt mile with just that intake.

WHen i find it ill post it.

BTW Bret did not do that intake, the guy did it himself, he calculated a 2-3 tenths faster on a 7.0 1/8 mile car.

I don't know much about the Air Gap design, but it seems it works?????

yup. I was hoping they would come back out with that.

Back in 97 I called them to buy one. It was like $1,200 with there fuel rails(you needed) but on a stock engine it was only worth 5hp. So a few years latter I called them to check again and they had stopped making them for the LT1/4

You know the only reason I bought the LT4 intake was to keep driving the Camaro while custom porting the intake while waiting for my AFR210s, so for $200 bucks it was worth it. I knew it didn't give me really much more in stock form and would never pay the silly prices they have on Ebay.

The LT4 manifold situation caught a lot of people off guard. I know it did me, as I never planned on using an LT4 manifold until I got my TFS heads. Finally broke down and paid $600 for one brand new about two weeks ago.

I should have my blower motor running about the time that this edlebrock piece comes out, and if that's the case, I'm going to try to get one and get it to LE for working over (who's doing my LT4 and TFS heads for the blower motor) and then do a back-to-back comparison on the dyno and see what happens.

I can't believe people are buyng LT4 intakes at the price of a custom sheetmetal one.

If our intakes were as restrictive as an L98 intake I could see the need for a good aftermarket intake. But considering with a little port work our can handle most NA applications, I don't see a whole lot of value in that intake. Just my 0.02
