I am not ordering an 847 cam.

I have delt with Jason before, great guy and great prices.

Just pointing out how expensive that method of shipping is. I would never spend that much to ship, I would rather plan out what I need to buy so I can do slow shipping and not pay a ton.

I am sure it did. It helps to have common sense in life and only spend 5$ on shipping vs 50$ with a little planning.

without knowing the reason why he had to do his rebuild over the weekend(I'm guessing because it's his daily driver) it seems kind of ridiculous to criticize someone for how they get parts. Most of us have had to rebuild or fix our cars when they broke over the weekend with some spirited driving in order to make it to work on Monday; it's just a part of it....Sorry to get off topic but just wanted to put in my two cents.

A) This guy asked for advice, like a couple others I provided a couple useful options.
B) Common sense has absolutely nothing to do with this, my cam toasted on a Wed, ordered parts on a Thur and by Fri evening I had what I needed to get my car running over a weekend.

Again you have enlightened us with absolutely nothing, if your going to post on a thread asking for advice then post useful advice & not your negative or immature comments.

your going to love this cam dude, hopefully your using 1.6 RRs and good springs with it too, like the 306 this cam has made big gains in the LTs. Wish when I tore mine down it was damaged, was going to sell it for $100, but it was scarred from the thrown rod.

Good luck

My original post just was saying yuck to paying that much for shipping. You have to go and get all pissy with the punk rollseyes response. I can post in whatever thread I want as long as I am not breaking forum rules, I don't need your approval. My aim is not to enlighten or impress you. If you think that saying air shipping is expensive is immature, you need to go lock yourself in a box.

I pointed out how expensive it is to ship air.I also stated I would plan better. You have your opinion, I have mine. I understand sometimes you need parts fast. Personally I know breakage can happen at any time, when modding cars thats just a fact of life. After several years I have not found myself in that situation...due to proper planning. Nothing that I said was that inflamatory to warrant a cry baby response. You can add several more cents, perhaps even dollars if you want.

thanks. I might add 1.7's to it as well. all my emissions crap is off the car now...so I'm not too worried about it. my next question is tuning....who would be able to tune my 94 PCM?

just be careful with the 1.7s. I CompProMag 1.7 SS RRs for about a year with 1.7s & CompRs & the step up from recommend spring to a Crane 99893 spring, toward the years end I ended up collapsing the crap CompRs & breaking two springs. Replaced with fresh springs and better lifters and was fine again. The 1.7s will make a difference, just be sure you have good valvetrain components.

Before there was a known issue with CompRs I collapsed one running Comp ProMag SS 1.7s with the Crane 99893 springs.

thank you for the info on the springs/lifters. I'm thinking about buying the AFR 210 heads to go along with this setup. is this a good choice? I'm going off my friends 383....he bought them and Loves them.

what lifters do you have now? I have a collapsed one in mine right now...luckily I am not driving it till summer.
