Question Do I need a knock module with my new exhaust?

I have a 1997 Trans Am WS6 and I just bought an entirely new exhaust system. It consists of PaceSetter Midlength Headers, a Random Tech. dual-catted high-flow Y-pipe, and an SLP LM1 Catback system. I expect this sytem to be quite loud and obnoxious (just how I like it), but will I need to install the LT4KM to prevent timing retardation? Thanks guys!

I would say yes. I would just get one if I had a basic exhaust without a cat. They are only like 50 bucks...

yeah u can get it off ebay for real cheap, you should go with LT's & no cats if you want loud & obnoxious, & you always want to prevent the "retardation" I don't know why it's just funny

If you have a tune, you can have them desensitize knock...Usually they do it automatically w/o question. There is no need to get an LT4 KM if you have this, even though I have one anyways.

can't you just bypass the knock sensor with a tune?
