Default Please Help!!! Opti?

So last week my LT1 with 93,xxx miles started acting up and through up the check engine light. So I ran the codes witch indicated that I had "Multiple Miss Fires" So I thought maybe the car just needed a tune up, B/c the car was running a little rough but it wasnt missing all the time, and always started right up. So I ended up changing the the plugs and wires, cap/rotor, and also the water pump since I was already taking apart the front of the motor. Once everything was installed, the car started right up perfect, I took it around the block and everything was smoothe as can be, I parked it for about 2 minutes in my driveway and when I went to start it to put it in my garage, it had didnt want to turn over. It took about 3 long turns of the key and me forcing it gas to finaly get it to start, once it started it was running really rough and once again through up the service engine light. What could it be? Please help me Im really frustrated with the entire situation.

Thanks,
Chris

If the flywheel spun, then it turned over. Sounds like it didn't want to fire is what you meant. If it won't turn over, then we have a starter issue. Anyway, did you also get a code for "lo res failure?" If so, then that's the optical portion of the opti that you didn't replace. Sounds like maybe fuel also. Turn the key to "on" (don't start) and see if you can hear your fuel pump prime. Also, pull a plug and see if it sparks when the car is cranked. But only do that if you know you won't shock the **** outta yourself.

the fuel pump does run when I just put the key in the start position, also I didnt get that "lo res failure" code. The car will turn over after a few trys, but just runs like **** once it gets going. Could it be a fuel problem? I do get a strong smell of gas once the car is shut off, its like the gas isnt being burned off likes its supose to. I really dont know what the problem is.

it has to be your opti mine did the same thing when the opti when bad from the water pump leaking on it, it would take a few tries to get it running then would only run for a few second & shut off.

ok so the car started right up today, drove it around and things seemed ok. Is it common for the opti to work and not work a random times?
