Default Cowl Hood

HOOD Has anyone bought a Cowl hood from this company. If so how well did it fit, and about how much did it weigh? I think the shape and look of the cowl on this hood is the best Ive seen.

I wouldn't trust an eBay hood. Go with VFN or something.... www.vfnfiberglass.com

I dont like the VFN hood. It has the stock fake inlets next to the cowl like the stock hood.

VFN doesnt have a great selection for LT1 hoods IMO.

I totally agree. Check out the ASCD cowl hood - thats probably what I'll be going with eventually

I agree, why go with Ebay when you can buy from a more reputable company for around the same price. If you don't like the VFN hood, what about other suppliers, such as ASCD, and GlassTek? I actually like the fake inlets on the VFN Hood, a little more unique than just a cowl induction hood.

I was thinking about going with that hood because I still think it is the best looking hood, with glasstek coming in a close second. Plus the place is only about 1 hour from my house, so I could pick it up, and not pay shipping.

I like cowl hood on Camaros. I think they look awesome and when you put your gauges behind the cowl its so damn awesome. But I dont like the style off cowl that most of the LT1 hoods are where the cowl begins with a 90 degree bend. I like the LS1 style where it kind stepps up at a 95 degree angle and its only like a 1 or 2 inch cowl. Has anybody seen some like this for an LT1 camaro.

The glasstek hood is a nice quality piece. I did have to slot the bottom bolt holes on the rear hood brackets to get the back of the hood at the right height, but otherwise it was a great fit.

Here are a couple of pics:

There's a few more pics on my old cardomain site:
