Is this cam noticeable?
. Your advise/opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanx I have driven that combo and YES you could tell it had a cam. Even after it went to a 409 you could tell it had a cam
208/221 @ .050, .474/.501 lift with 1.5rockers.
Pretty good numbers, huh?
As for the HOT cam, that is the cam they used on the ZZ430, along with the Fastburn heads on your FB385. Basically you are upgrading to a ZZ430 without the cosmetics upgrades (valvecovers, etc.).
You will love it! That motor will rip.
I've gotta say, though, that the HOT cam isn't the best cam you could put in that motor. I would go with the GM 846 cam (222/230, lift .542/.563). It is only slightly larger in duration (versus the HOT cam 218/228) but will let those beautiful heads breath a little better. You might need a spring change though.
If you've already ordered it, I wouldn't worry about it. The HOT kit is a great value.

You didn't say what you have for exhaust. That combo really needs long tubes and true duals to scream.
That Camaro with a manual and that motor combo will be very sweet. Those Fastburn heads are great. Sallee Chevrolet often got 394HP out of their FB385's and the ZZ430 motors they saw were running 440-447.
I followed Sallee Chevrolet's recommendation for the ZZ3 motor: MSD 6A box, 1" four-hole phenolic carb spacer and it was a truly great street motor. Your combo will love those and 1 3/4" headers.
