Default opti??

can anybody recommend replacements for the actual opti and the cap and rotor i know msd has a cap and rotor but do they have the actual unit im going to replace the entire thing while its out of the car

msd actually has a pro-billet opti now. its a little pricy at around 500 but if you really want it then go for it. i would switch to a coil pack set up. it a whole lot easier to deal with than the opti.

I just did a Delteq and user some Cadillac coils I found on Ebay. I'm in the whole thing for less than $400 because I was able to reuse the Taylor wires I already had in conjunction with reusing the boots from the Cadillac wires. I was also lucky because the coils I got came with the Cadillac mounting bracket and I was able to mount them to the firewall instead of having to ditch the traction control or use the lower radiator mount. I definately recommend the swap, especially if you have had as much trouble with the opti as I have (3 dead, 2 exploded rotors!).

im on the original at 150k miles no problems until now... im thinking about jsut spending the money on the MSD billet opti and the MSD cap and rotor

Do a google for Delteq and for LTCC

Two different approaches to a coilpack solution. Neither totally eliminate the opti (still need the optical side for cam position sensor) and both are pricey.

If money is a concern just get a new Genuine GM OEM opti....you could go through 3 of them for the price of the next cheapest solution.

if i got the money for that i dont think the money is a problem i just dont know about doing the conversion because if i run into problems there are no shops in my area that would be able to help me

i just checked out the delteq package i may look into that it looks a little easier to work with
