Default HP Estimate

Well yes I am kind of a newb when it comes to estimating power and 1/4 time, and i was wondering if you guys wouldnt mind helping me out. My plans are Jet Hot Race LT's and ORY, GMMG Cat Back, GM846 cam or a little bigger, ceramic intake port matched, 30lb injectors, MSD ignition coil, 1.6 RR's, 4.10's, Stock Heads, and Stock everything else. What times do you think I am going to run and what kind of power should i expect to make? Thanks

Don't bother grinding on the intake much unless you grind on the heads too, you seriously risk putting a shelf in the port where they meet which will hurt flow rather than improve it. Intake upgrades are so popular and productive on the gen1 and gen 3 motors that everyone gets a little too caught up in doing them on the LT1 too. It works much better than given credit for. Not saying it is perfect it isn't just wait till you play with the heads.

O, I understand perfectly the LT1 intake and the pros and cons, really no upgrade other then some sheet metal intake that I've heard a little about, I'll be careful, might not even do it, but i have some other intakes laying around just in case, but any estimates?

6spd or auto? if 6spd i would stay away from sticky tires w/ those gears if you want the rear to live very much longer.

yea, its a 6 spd, and I have no intention of buying radials or anything like that, I'm not looking for the fastest drag car so I'm not going to fret over .2 here and .1 there, and yes I want my 10 bolt to live so I dont plan to launch, even if I'm at the strip.

I have a brand new set of Holley (Delphi, MSD) 30lb injectors that I'll sell for $250 plus UPS Ground shipping. I ended up going with a blower and upgrading to Holley 50 pounders before I even put in the 30's.

PM if interested.
