Thats sounds awsome man, I think you should go for it. LS1 guys keep saying our cars are slow but yet why are LT1s putting down good numbers and times. Lt1s got some stero type of being slow, I have a younger cusion in highschool. His freind owns a C5 with borla and Nitto DRs, He raced a Lt1 camaro with min mods done to it and got beat. The C5 couldnt belive that a Lt1 was that fast. I mean I really dont know how these cars got a bad name.


I drove a bolton LS1 and it didnt feel soooooo fast like most owner claim it just pulled a bit better nothing big. I like the LS1 and was wanting to swap over to one but its pointless and I would rather build a LT1 what would go just as fast.


In street trim you can built both cars to run with each other, but they like to think everyone has 100,000 drag car and runs 7s.

I think you should go for it man, I dont know how to post Pics. Im sure you can PM a mod to do it for you. We need more people that know alot more tricks to get LT1s moving again.

You guys that are in hiding need to come out..

no, I didn't ask if it was a street car, because mine is going to be a track car as well as driven on the street. lol

the only restrictions I put on it were, heads stock, no nitrous, thats it. where are the boosted numbers on stock heads, as well as the strokers, I know there are some.

and as for 420 on stock heads n/a, I think you are all being pretty hard on him, just because it is not the norm you all think it can't be done. Just like my take on boosted setups, not normal for lt1's. just like other out of the ordanary, you think just because it hasn't been done (or more often, because you haven't heard of it), it can't be done. even look at the sts turbos.

Thanks! I think that I will go ahead and build it. I will try to take some "before" pictures in the next couple of weeks. This could be a fun deal. I wonder what a 3200 lb LT4 Firebird with ported factory castings will run in Super Stock. Anyone want to guess?
