Default LT4 Question

If doing an LT4 swap, Can you use the same heads that on LT1? Do i need Cam, lifter and rockers? I don't want a cam thats to wild and not to mild. I don't want it sounding like a dragster but want a sound that people know that it's cammed.

No the LT4 top end is different from the LT1.

There's no reason to do this swap, and the parts are no longer available through GM anyway.

Send your current heads to be ported and pick a cam that matches your application. You'll be much happier and faster.

So all i need to do is port and polish my heads and get a cam for it and I'll be getting 75 hoses more to the wheels? Can you give me a ballpark figure on how much it would cost to get my heads polished with a cam?

www.eportworks.com

$1100 gets you polished heads and a cam that's good for 370 rwhp. You'll need the supporting bolt ons he mentions however.

Lloyd Elliot is THE man to go to for head polishing needs in the LT1 world.
