Commented on the other board but basically it is the head gasket sealing area nick and the valveseat nick that worry me, the intake port nicks could seal with a little silicon but since you need to bring them to a machine shop anyway get all the mating surfaces done and a valvejob.

those little nicks arent going to really do anything as far as sealing up. I would highly suggest you get a valve job and have them checked out by a professional. But be ready for critics

Did you look at the pictures? Like the one where the nicks run from the water jacket hole into the combustion ring? Could be argues a slight leak between intake ports is unimportant but water into the cylinder is a HUGE problem.

Same thought here.

I would mill them anyways to get them back to straight.

other car ran 8.1 @89 mph (think that was the time) with a 1.8 60 ft

Thanks for the compliment on the exhaust. i have pacesetter 1 7/8 long tube headers into a 3 " collector to a 3" y pipe into a cutout and out the back no muffler no cats.

Looks like a ok job, you might need to get the flanges milled because of the damage to the intake side, as far as the valve seats you are going to need to get a valve job, but you did a pretty good job,

you could probably go further on the combustion chamber, a little tip when you are doing the chamber is to put some old valves in the seats that way you dont damage or groove them accidentally.

The only problem I have with just lapping the valves is that it is not 100% effective in MOST cases. Not saying in yours, did you have the seats and valves checked to make sure there is no leaks ? I really hope I am not coming off as an *** I am just curious. I tried to just lap the valves on some heads I worked on but they did not mate up perfect and air was coming thru.

IMO I wouldn't do to much to the chambers maybe just cartridge roll it, but not to much as to changing the ratio. I agree though all in all not to bad for a home job, as long as the flow characteristics are good and the numbers do not fall off your in the clear.
