yes it really makes it loud like people say. I have a question too. What gears did you
have before the 3.73's and could you tell a difference in them? with 3.73' what
rpm's are you runnin at like 60 mph? thanks, Joe

Installed an electric cutout in my 97 SS....after the cat and before muffler. Small button concealed in ashtray operates the cutout. The SS has a nice sound as it is, but when the cutout is open even sweeter. Had to put a small stainless extension pointing downward to keep the exhaust flow from heating up a rear floor panel. Made it a little more subdued than without the extension....but still sweet. Could probably get away with it open for the most part. A fun addition. Go with an electric.....so much easier to play with.
Here's a link to the one I got.....quality item and reasonable.

My car stock has 1 cat converter. And im PRETTY POSITIVE NO REAR O2 SENSOR.
The only O2's are the ones on the headers. So I will be getting a custom catted y-pipe made with 2 cats.
I also bought a cutout and am not sure where i should put it.
Before the cats, which would mean if cutout was open, i would be running headers only. (will that throw codes, and damage O2's?)
Or should i go with the cutout after the cats meaning headers and catted y, when the cutout is open?

no need to go 2 cats. The 95 LT1's were made from the factory with 1 cat. Putting another car on there will cutback on your power. If you want just move the cat towards the rear end and put the cutout before the cat in the middle of the car.
My car has longtubed headers, no cats, and a cutout right before the rearend. Easy to get too when i put the cap on (which i never do) sounds too mean with my cam.

if your running a single C/O before the axle without electric it'd be a PIT to get to everytime. My old setup had dual 3" c/o's after the collectors (easy to reach w/no jack) that took less than 2 minutes with a 13mm wrench.
