Default Coolin problems

I was having problems in traffic with my temp rising pretty high and eventually the plastic sidetank cracked and my car pegged out in the mcdonalds drive through. So i changed my radiator all my hoses my waterpump and i put a hypertech 160 powerstat. It runs super cool but ever once and a while i will be at a light and the temp will start to rise over 210 but at other lights it will stay at like 175. I let it idle in my drive way and sometimes it will heat up and others it will stay cool i figured the thermostat was gettin stuck so put the ol stocker back in and it would do the same thing. Im gettin frustrated any suggestions????

Our cars are bottom breathers, meaning that the only time air flows through the radiator is when either the car is moving or the fans are on. It is normal for the temp to creep up to 210 at a light, but it should go back down around 215 I believe when the fan kicks on or when you start driving.

Put your 160 stat back in, then get a fan switch http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=63011 or you can get a cheap one from pep boys. Switch it on when you come to a stop and the temp will not get over 175.
