Wrong forum, I know, but I have a 4600lb truck with 350rwhp and pulled one from a traffic light and put at least a length on him. Granted, we did not go up to 130 - he got the point and gave big-time props when we pulled up to the next traffic light.

 

SRT arent **** unless they have some $$$$$$$ in them. I raced a guy here in NM with one and he didnt do **** to me. My LT1 has some miles on her but with some help from MR. NOS I killed him.This guy could'nt stop talking about his SRT NEON that his father gave him for his birthday.So i jumped in on the subject and told him that I just bought a T/A and I want to see what it would run in the 1/4.THis RICer said his ran 13.0 in the 1/4. He wanted to look under the hood but I told him that it was stock.We raced like 5 times til he told me that his car wasnt tuned or something like that. After we raced I put the hood on my all stock LT1 with 150shot. He didnt say **** after I put my hood up. I heard him say that I put $10000 in the motor ,**** $6000 T/A 90,000miles

You better have beat him w/a 150 shot, thats def. a low 12 sec car w/traction. I raced one a while ago, stage II, destroyed him w/no traction til about 50mph, got alot of compliments when we slowed down.

I raced a stage 2 SRT-4, it was pretty damn fast it jumped me by a car or so from the dig but i walked him between 90-110 and he stayed about a car back untill 130 where we shut down. I have a loudmouth LT's, ORY, and my shitty 2.73's, and of course the ram air.

 

One of my buddies has a '05 SRT-4 ACR completetly stock and ran a 13.6@1xx on a stock radial. Like everyone has been saying those little ***** do have some pretty good potential to be fast. For the modded ones though from a dig, its very rare for them not to spin, all the ones I've raced I've put atleast a car on them off the line if not more. And at like 130 the Vette's aerodynamics take effect and it just slices through the wall of air like a hot knife through butter.

 

SRT4's arent AWD, they're FWD, and you'd murder one from a stop.

 

Um, are you kidding me? I can put 3k into an SRT4 and run 11's all day long on slicks with no nitrous. I can do it even cheaper with some spray. It doesnt take alot of money to make them fast at all.

 

very true, when you are talking about a car that is FI stock it is pretty easy to upgrade the components to make it really fast. S/C just get a pulley, Turbo's just get a new downpipe and bov. they are imports but i gotta have respect for any car that is fast whether it be a geo metro with a ls1 swap or in this case a neon with a decent motor and FI

 

They're not imports, they're domestics. Moreso than Fbodys even.

 

last I heard neons were made by dodge, a division of DAIMLER-CHRYSLER. to me chrysler made the big 3 into the big 2.5.

They're still quick little cars. theres an agp 50 trim turbo one in the area that is one of the fastest cars in the area supposedly.

 

Their motors make great power, but I'll never mod a FWD car. A waste of a motor in that car, if htey had an AWD compact to put it in they'd be a lot more dangerous.

whoa jesus sorry guys im usually the one catching people at that but oh well. yes it is a domestic, but it is classified with the sport compacts which are dominately imports.

 

I ran 8.85/83 mph in my buddy's stock SRT-4. Thats waaaaay faster than what my stock LT1 ran (9.07/79 mph).

For what its worth, I like them. They are hilarious to drive. I see all these people who sit and knock them. Everyone of them are the guys who've never driven one.

 

My best friend owns a 04 srt-4, swears up and down its not a neon, but every chance he gets he tries to race me. And everytime i press on the gas it puts him back in his place, but from what he's been telling everyone is i barely pull on him; load of **** if i pass him everytime with someone else in my car usually. I'll say they are quick i drive it every once in awhile but I always say " you own a neon". Oh and they all think they can win a race starting at a 30mph roll according to his forum.

 

lol thats the truth, there are some guys who get all butt-hurt when you call their SRT-4 a neon. so I call them neons all the time

 

I call mine a neon all day long.

BTW the Firebird was built in Canada, not America. The SRT4 is built and designed in america. Thats what I meant by "more american".

Either way, they're fun little cars. FWD sucks complete monkey nuts though. That and mine hasnt been the most reliable, but the dealer has fixed everything no problem.

Dodge and Mitsubishi have been in ca-hoots for almost 15 years.
The stratus, concorde's, avengers. neons, vans, and many other all use Mitsy motors, and tranny's.

There were only a couple of plants that built Fbodies, one in Canada, and I think 2 in USA, maybe 1, not sure.


Id rather lose in my LT1, then win in a Neon.

 

ok guys, me being a stock 95 a4 lt1 running around a 13.8 i raced my buddies srt-4 with full exhaust and intake running like 20 pds of boost, from a stop i whooped his *** and he passed me around 115 (damn turbo) but from a 30 or higher he would hand my *** to me!
