If it is like the 94 thru 97's you just tap the white wire from the PCM or if you have an MSD box with the tach output you can tap that lead from the box marked TACH output. Hope that helps, Mike

The instructions tell me to run it off the gren wire on a coil or rpm output from igntion box...... Now the green or brown wire from coil is off a traditional V8 HEI igntion. Dont have a MSD box.....but I have a LTCC coil over plug set up like the LS1 so there goes that idea. I will try the white wire or the wire coming off the stock tach....

You don't have to have the LS1 coil setup for the tach output to work. If you have an MSD digital 6+ it will have the tach output.

dont have a MSD box but i found two wires coming out of the PCM, and one white wire from the gauge cluster connector. One the two wires coming from the PCM seems to be a little thicker gauge than the other. So dont know which one to tap into on that but what about the white wire to the gauge cluster would that be a the signal wire from the PCM?

for anyone one thats wants to know the answer to this question.... off of the wiring harness near the ignition module and the coil there is a little box with thre wires. This is called the tach filter it has two white and one black..... One white goes to the coil connector, the other white wire goes to the instrument cluster, and the black is a ground...... Tap into the white wire that goes in between the instrument cluster and tach filter, not the white wire that from the tach filter and the coil....... freebie for everyone else..... Cant take all the credit have to thank Chris B. at Stewart Warner for the help.

Yeah you can find that white wire right at the guage cluster. That is where I tapped into it. I am running the Stewart warner shift light w/built in tach.
