^^In the tune you can also opt for power programming I think its called where the timing is boosted to run 91+ octane so you pick up some power if I were you I'd spend $20 and put on a 160* thermostat and in the tuning they program the car to run with that stat and there again you get more power and a better running car. For $80 I think the tuning is well worth it because it will give you about 15hp or so and it lets the computer know that you have Headers, Aftermarket Cats etc. You can also disable skip shift and have the knock sensor desensatized but it looks like you already got the LT4 km so that doesnt really do anything but if you got the extra cash I'd go for it but no you don't absolutely need it so its your call man.

Hmmm... I'll think about it. It sounds good but we'll see how my situation is in the future.

mine does that too, thats just the way the LT1 engine is but mine still pops after tuning but alot of it was reduced when I scraped my flowmasters for GMMG and the popping sounds freaken awesome instead of annoying.

I don't think your tune is "right where it is" the reason these cars have so much pop is due to the cam and the fuel. There is alot of fuel that gets dumped through the exhaust and creats the detonation inside the exhaust...that is your pop. It goes away once you get rid of the stock cam and tune the vehical.

Tuning won't change pops in an exhaust system, it is the backpressure in the exhaust system itself. Mine pops a little bit when I am slowing down and the RPM's are going down. Attached is my audo file, it is just an idle, couldn't get a revup. Is is clear and loud all the way through. I will get a different one when I get my LY's on it.

Car sounds nice. Just saying, mine does not pop at all. I have a custom ground cam in a blown and stroked 383 with Hooker LT's and a 4" Mufflex exhaust...and have no pops. But for an LT4 hotcam that sounds real good man. I haven't heard an LT4 hotcam idle like that before.

Thanks. It still has a factory 3" Cat on it, no joke. That is a 600rpm idle. Standing next to it, it sounds like a Harley. That is with shorties on it, the new one will be with LT's on it. It has none of the AIR stuff on it, that made a difference.

I don't know about these particular pops as mine never really did that, but I know the MadZ28 tune did change at least one area of my exhaust note. On deceleration at higher rpms my exhaust had alot of burble or gargle to it (it sounded badass IMO) with the stock tune. W/ the Madz28 tune it was toned down quite a bit, it's still a little "burbly" doing it still but it was definitely impacted.

I'd be very surprised if leaning the car out as the tune does wouldn't effect this popping when revving as well.
