Default doesnt seem to run the same.

Hello, I'm new to the forum and have a quick question. I just purchased a 1997 Camaro SS LT-1 with a 6 speed Car has all SLP options. The only bolt on's are a set of 3:73 gears and a Hyper tech programmer. When I first bought the car, about 4 weeks ago, it ran like a bat out of hell. I recently disconnected the battery for about 6 hours. When I hooked the battery back up and took it for a ride there seemed to be a lot of power missing. I hooked up the programer and it did not work. I went out and bought a new programer and reinstalled the program. Car still runs the same..did I mess something up when I disconnected the battery? The first programer was a Hypertech Power Plus the new programer is a Hypertech III. Anybody have any idea's... thanks, Bill

When you disconnect the battery the volatile pcm memory is erased, so it might have to relearn some things. Drive it for a while and see if it improves.

I drove it about 100 miles since. There has been no change. I left the car alone for about a week or so and drove it tonight. It just feels like it's missing something. befor the car would smoke the tires on a roll in first and second now it wont even make them squeek...I just dont get it. Thanks, Bill

A couple of people that I know have had Hypertechs, and they had problems like that. I got mine tuned by a tech at GM. Mine tune didn't add stuff to the programming like Hypertech, it completely re-does all the programming, and the new stuff is all it has.

Little more info...the car seemed to run a little rich before disconnecting the battery.
