Default Stroking the LT-1

What the most that I can bore and strock the LT-1 and whats the biggest horsepower gain seen with the LT-1 using bare motor, spray, or turbo?

I believe 408 is the max, but it could be 427.

Powere is in the topend, you get all hungup on cubes and neglect the topend and you will have an engine that does not perform.

The ONLY reason to go past 383/396 on an LT1 it because you have a "mine is bigger than yours" complex, or a few b-body guys go to 409 for the nostalga of a 409 Impala.

Start looking into heads if you want to make power and ignor the AFR are wonderful threads.

I have seen an SBC made into a 454 ci, now saying that the bottom end is almost the same on the LT1, so you could probably do that big

i heard once that you can get an old chevy diesel 350 block and bore it to a 440 and put big block pistons in it and it would be a 440 small block

i would want a 396 because i have a 1970 Firebird with a 396 big block.. and it would be cool to have my 96 have a 396....

but i have no idea where to get eveyrhting for a 396... plus a 355 is probly better for a all out turbo motor anyways..
