You guys talk about moddified cars breaking the aluminum shaft, I know the carbon fiber shafts are lighter but are they stronger or are they still pretty breakable?

according to your sig you have an LT1. If you have an LS1 then your post will be worthwhile, if not, you just read my post wrong. I don't know of any 3.23 optioned LS1s that came with a steel driveshaft stock. if you mean something else the only option i mentioned was the gears so it was unclear.

a carbon fiber composite has its strength all in one direction while a metal has strength in all directions. Even then the tensile strength of a carbon fiber is a little more than aluminum and alot less than that of steel.

Another reason people go with the carbon fiber shaft is because the shaft will actually flex or twist under hard launches. This helps to soften the blow to your rear end.
