Default 110mph speedometer on a Formula?

My uncle has a 1994 Formula that I got to drive the other day, and noticed that it only has a 110mph speedo on it... I have never seen anything other than 150 on a LT1/LS1 f-body before so I thought it'd be worth posting up to see if that's normal..

if it had a gov on it it would only go 108mph so they put the 110 on them

It depends on what options the car came with, if it came with the perfomance options, Z rated tires (Eagle GSCs), 3.23s gears if it was an auto and so on, then it got the 155 speedo. The cars with the 110 were usally the ones that came with non Z rated tires and 2.73 gears.

my car with 2.73's came with the 155 speedo but it also had the performance shift option... I have really never understood who got the 155 vs the 110?

if it came with the Z rated tires then it got the 155 speedo, if not then it got the 110, the gears had very little to do with what speedo you got it was the tires that determined the speedo

thats because thats what t rated tires are rated for i believe thus the governor, but there was also a set of all season tires that werent rated i believe, i dont have my dealer option book in front of me, but if you got the all season non speed rated t or otherwise thats when you got the 110 speedo

I have teh 95 catalog and all that crap somewhere, I keep all that assorted crap. I might look for it if I get time, and there could have been different tire selections for different years or different area's of the country...

Another thing, I have a friend who has a 94 T/A and it came with the low rise spoiler (Firebird hatch) and the 110 speedo.

Bet it only has P R N D 3 2. Just upgrade the console, get a 150 speedo, and change the gear

The Goodyear RSA's are the z rated all season tires. My car came with them and a 155 speedo.
