Actually unless you change your gear ratios of the 4L60E I still think 3:42s are perfect. You can maintain normal driving, get decent mpg, have a max speed well beyond what you can hit with 4:10s and still run a decent 1/4. (I was spinning to 6300rpm). If you run down the track and don't drive the car in normal traffic then I can see where 4:10s would benefit you. Otherwise I PERSONALLY don't think its worth the sacrifice to have them in a daily driver.
sorry it took me a while,
Weather was about 75-80 degrees.
60' was 2.1s, and no my madz28 tune was not with the shift point thing, i didnt wanna change it but i suppose this is what could be wrong??
and i was about to hit 4th in the 1/4, my trap speeds were roughly 100.xx

Gears and the Right Suspension/Tire/Converter setup are worth a good chunk of ET.
I'll back that one. I have some good tires, Eibach Springs, and 3.73's, and it launches really nice, and accelerates strong. I might have a Cam also, but gears are a big part. I like them on the street playing with people, they have a little edge.
Ok, I have a 1997 ta a4 and I have 373's and on street tires i ran a 14.2 with a bad launch and dog food in the back lol! Also have CAI 58mm TB and flowmasters for the time being. Mods arent much diff from yours and I have no tune right now. Im doing 65 when it says im doing 80, kinda sucks sumtimes

im lost here, did everyone figure out before and after what he ran for 60ft's and trap speed???? i could understand he didnt gain any ET but a few mph from lack of traction.... i know with 4.10 gears he's blistering the tires off the line....

4:10s would have had me in 4th gear at 3900rpm for my traps at the time. After the CC306 and headers 4:10s would have had me at 42xxrpm at the end of the track in 4th gear. Whereas 3:42s would have had me a 51xxrpm in 3rd at the end of the track.
