I ran the CC306 on stock heads and 2200 stall... Limitation is the heads. The CC306 makes a ton of power but on stock heads it struggles to make 350rwhp. Once you open the heads up you can make insane amounts of power.

As said about I had some surge around 2K.. but even with the Auto I didn't notice it too bad.

As for the 503 Ive never worked with it... so I can't add anything useful.

the 503 is a good cam for stock heads, but you're not going to make 400rwhp with it. I would just go with that for now and then switch it to a bigger one (like the LE2) if you're going with LE heads later.

I didn't think I was going to make 400hp with just a cam. I was thinking a cam to get around 340 and then add heads later to get somewhere near 400, then hopefully hook up some nitrious (150 wet shot) and get some nice power! Thanks for everyones input.

Any more ?

Surging is a similar feeling to when you pull out the clutch too quick and it dies and then comes to life, almost like stutters. That is the best way to describe it.

OH ok I see. Well did you get plenty of power after that surge?

What's the cause of the surge? Is it not flowing enough or.....Just wondering (for my knowledge bank)

I know, what I was saying is that cam is not going to give you 400 (with heads obviously).

If you want 400rwhp all motor it's going to take a bigger cam than that.

i dont have any numbers at the moment because when i picked my car up from the cam swap it was mysteriously missing 2nd and 4th gear. the guy that did my cam swap claims he never drove it but hes full of ****. on a brighter note 1st and 3rd are very strong. and to anyone interested in getting a cam for the sound i would also recommend this cam, i cant tell u how many people have just stared at my car at stop lights over the last 3 days because of how hard the cam hits.

With the CC306 around 3,000rpm it just starts pulling like crazy and never feels like its going to let off.

So yeah..PLENTY of power after the surging point.

Well I talked to loyd and this is what he said.

Best bang for the buck is the $800 LE1 heads. They will work great with that cam and will make anywhere from 350 to 390 RWHP (depending on the rest of the set up).

You will also need some bigger inj, some headers/exhaust and good tuning to get to the 350-360 RWHP range. Better headers, ported intake, bigger TB, etc, etc are all needed to get you in the 380-390 RWHP range.

So basically my plan is cc503 cam first until I have money for the heads. then it's time to get nasty. hehe hehe. thanks for your help guys!!

I will be doing something a little different this summer, but it sounds like we are in the same boat, new motor sitting in a garage and you want somewhere around 340rwhp.

i plan on doing a cc305 (220/230) with scorpian 1.7 RR's (.578/.578) as soon as I get back from Europe. I'm about two months away from it happening but I thought I would throw it at you.
