Here are a couple of my '93 Z28 that I used to have. I have been without an LT1 for almost 9 years now, but plan on fixing that soon with a '96 Impala SS. I am suprised there are no Impala LT1 cars in here.

The hood isnt that bad driving,
As far as the holes, they are not blocked off but very easily could be blocked off if needed!
