ast night ME and my girlfriend were coming back from Dave&Busters when a BLACK LS1 camaro rolled up on us and the two guys just looked over and drove by. It had a borla out back and was pretty loud{no cats}. I was floored my car has nocats and a cutout and they just blew me off. So I rolled back up on the guy at about 70 in 3rd. I got to about his back tire and he downshifted putting the gas in the floor. I just plugged it and holy shXt I pulled him threw 3rd and when both shifted to 4th and I got off his car but about a 1 full car. I had to exit and he followed me off onto the excess road. "what does that car have done to it?" I have see this guy before and the track when I ran my 13.7/103 it was agianst him. He ran a 13.30/108 against me. I told him "cold air,cutout ,lt's,no cat" and was like "whatever". "i SWEAR TO GOD" I downshifted into 1st and rolled up to 40 mph and once agian he was at his back tire { my drivers door level with} he downshift into and hit it. Right of the hit I leveled out with him and threw 2nd I started pulling putting him at my back tire {which for me is weird because my car is not strong in first or second but 3rd and 4th anyway} when shifted to 3rd almost the same time and I jumped foward a full lenght and was pulling away. We both lifted at the top of 3rd and he drove up a on ramp giving me the peace sign. *UPDATE* I was correct I had seen the guy before and a tech at work knew him so he made a phone call. " That guy sprayed me" was his response. My tech informed that was not the case because he knows my car very well. The guy says he wants a rematch but does not think it will do any good because and I quote " he just started pulling me"!!!!!
Now because I was alittle confused about the way the car pulled this 108 mph ls1 I decided to call a friend of mine with a 99 lighting that traps 106/107. I asked if his friend still had a 2001 ws6 trans am and if he would be up for a race. The car ran 105/106 all the time stock. But my friend informed me that the WS6 was now sporting mid length headers,ory pipe and a cat back. He said with those mods he should be at a solid 108/110 range which sounds right because that year has the ls6 intake stock. I was not looking to make a big impression just gauge what mph my car ran. We did a 35/40 punch and NO LYE it was door to door all the way to 140. My buddy in the lighting {former ls1 owner and does not care for lt1's} started making excuses for the ws6. The lighting took off behind us and we pulled away from him.
So make sense of this for me. I know I did not gain 6/7 mph from LT's with just a cai and cutout. The only thing I can guess and I mean GUESS is when I ran my 13.73/103 those black wheels {sticking lt1 brakes} I was sporting was slowing me down. I have dropped 120 pounds from the car and upgraded the brakes which I noticed the car just rides smoother.... no tugging or pulling.... that I notice was there after I changed the brakes. Anyway maybe the car would have run 104 and shaving a 120 pounds got me to 105 then the LT'S gave me 3/4 mph. Is that possible!!!!
ALL I KEEP HEARING IS IT NOT POSSIBLE WITH THOSE MODS IT IS THAT FAST!!!! 3535 RACE WEIGHT,CAI,1 3/4 LT'S,ORY PIPE, CUTOUT,TB BYPASS,M6 ,3.42,NOT TUNE RUN 108/110!!!

Its best to try and not make sense of street racing, to many variables in a very controlled enviroment, track fewer variables, more controlled and you geta time slip to take away guess work.
True but when you roll race you take away alot of variables. No reaction time,60ft its just straight mph to mph. Track about time. I have seen mustangs run 12.9's at 100 with 1.50 60ft's. My concern is mph because I play on the street. But you would not think My car with those mods could keep up with LS1'S with there mods.
