Default TB Bypass?

I have seen people around here speaking about a 'TB bypass.' I don't know what it is and would appreciate it if someone could explain it to me.

A friend of mine did this, dynoed the car the day before, then the day after. We gained 7-10hp/tq across the board.

I'm surprised someone actually went through the trouble of dynoing a car after doing it. Glad I did it but wouldn't pay $75 for a dyno to see if my free mod worked.

It's been dyno proven to give you around 5 hp at least.
